Internet marketing has given lots of people a chance to earn income. One of these people who benefit from online marketing are freelance writers.

It is a fact that articles add content to websites. It is used as a marketing tool because it helps online marketers attract prospective customers to check out their site. Online marketers are looking for freelance writers to help them write articles that will advertise or market their products or services.

The topics are endless. Articles about finances or medical issues are just a few of the topics that are in demand these days. Online marketers are also looking for freelancers who can do technical writing and translation.

There is no denying that freelance writing is a very lucrative career. Do you have what it takes to be a writer? Here are some tips for freelance writers working at home.

Freelance Writing Websites

The web is a great place to start looking for clients. There are numerous websites that serves as a meeting place for internet marketers and freelance writers.

First, you have to sign up. You don't have to pay for anything to be registered. Just follow the easy steps and once you are registered, you can start bidding on the available project you would want to take on.

Having experience in writing articles is surely an advantage. Some clients prefer writers who have done writing jobs in the past. On the other hand, some clients are looking for freelance to write articles for them because newbies have fresher ideas.

If you are just a newbie, it would be best to start with a low service fee. As you accept more writing jobs, you can build a name for yourself. Making sure that you can finish all your projects on time should be one of your priorities.

Follow A Schedule

Since you are working at home, it is important that you finish your articles on time. Failing to complete a project on the expected date can really make your client unhappy.. You should always be punctual because if you are, clients would be eager to get your services.

Quality Writing is the Key

You should always give your one hundred percent in writing every article. In order to be effective, articles need to be informative and interesting.

Start with a catchy title. See to it that your content is relevant to the topic. Refrain from using words or sentences that would just mislead your readers. You don't expect a client to hire you again if you give them a sloppy article. A poor quality of work will backfire on you when your client leaves a negative comment on your work.

On the other hand, if a client is satisfied with your work, then you can expect to get hired again. It will be good for your reputation as a freelance writer if all your clients would only have good things to say about you.

Always remember that to be one of the most-sought after freelance writers, you should always write articles with quality content and deliver them on time.

Article Writing - Techniques

Article writing has many techniques that can be applied to capture your audience.
Here are some basic techniques that you can use to help with your article marketing:

1.) Article Title: When writing articles make the title as interesting as possible. Avoid special characters in your article as many article directories will strip those out and or un-approve your article.
Never put your website address or any website address or keyword stuff your article title.
When trying to write a article that is interesting try to include 2 keywords or keyword phrases that relate to the article.

2.) Article description: The article description should provide a little about the article that will grab a readers curiosity.
Never keyword stuff or put your website address this is will get your article un-approved or your author account banned.

3.) Keywords: Use specific keywords related to your article. Do not put keywords in that are related to your bio of the article. This isn't SEO friendly and your article will not get good rankings in the search engines. Do not put your website address in the keyword field as this will only ensure your article gets un-approved.

Note: I will go more indepth in the above later

4.) Before you start writing get to know your audience in your niche market. Look for trends. This will help in finding your audience of readers/buyers. Write on a general knowledge level that your audience will be able to relate to and easily understand. This will help your readers to easily adapt your ideas.

5.) Write on topics that you know very well. I suggest writing on topics that relate to products or services that you provide. Not selling but providing good information about. This could be done by writing a tutorial or a review on a product/service.
The strongest form of writing is writing tutorials. This is writing article(s) that can help others struggling with the topic/article tutorial is about. This is the easiest way to grab your audience and build a strong user base and most of all "FAITH IN YOU".

6.) Avoid repetitive writing. Repetitive writing can seem robotic and dry. Especially when you write an informative paper, you may feel tempted to state the facts, one after another, in the same fashion. To avoid distracting the reader with repetitive sentences and to add rhythm and variety to your sentences, make sure you vary sentence length. Remember that there are different ways to vary the length of your sentences. Look for ways to combine sentences or to stylistically cut them short (yes, you can use fragments). Follow long sentences with short ones that help to drive your point home.
To be Repetitive in a good way: can
either be through an example, using a story, or quoting a famous person.

7.) Figure of speech such as metaphors, smiles, and analog can be a writers best friend. Using comparison to make it easier for the reader to relate to the picture your painting. This is making a common ground between you the author and the reader.

8.) Using powerful words that stir up options and emotional can grab your reader. These words will provoke a response from your reader. Make sure that the specific phrase or phrases has something to do with your business. Try to make every word count. Doing this will help give a solution as an answer that will be better.

9.) Being consistent with your ideas shows integrity and will help build faith in you as a author. Being consistent will make it hard for the reader not to agree with you.

10.) Persuasion is vital. If you are able to back your writing up with credentials and reference can help form a better understanding of the subject matter.

11.) Never annoy your readers. Annoying your readers will only ruin your credentials as an author. Never throw commercials or junk in your bio or article your writing. Instead make your self look as a professional or expert in your field as an author.

12.) Short and to the point. When writing articles make sure that your article is short usually between 300 - 500. If your article is longer than this you will bore your reader(s). If your article is longer than this. You may wish to break your article up into segments like article 1, article 2, article 3. Give the option for the reader to go to other parts of the article. You may also wish to just write a e-book and use a short article to grab a user base of readers. Most of all let your ideas flow like water naturally and clear to the point
.

Article Marketing and Article Promotion

Article Marketing Another excellent form of marketing is Article marketing and or also called article promotion. Article writing is a good way to form a user base. Over time if done right you can form a large user base that will build faith in you and your business. This will drastically increase sales and profits for your business. Find a topic that you know very well and write on it. People love tutorials and free information. This is a great way to bait your readers into going to your website with your affiliate links or articles or products/services. This is done through the user bio at the end of the article. Many article directories also provider their authors with a bio page. This usually gives the options to upload a picture, write about your self and your business or businesses, and give your website address.
Benefits: this allows for people to see who wrote the article and help market your self and your business.

Many authors write on many different topics looking to form backlinks to their website(s) or according to there product or service provided. This is a great way to target market your audience.

There are many, many, many, article directories. I'd suggest looking for article directories that target the keywords and keyword phrases that are relevant to your website. I would avoid article sites that use the articlebeach or articledashboard free article script due to how hackable they are and all the mysql exploits that have been done on these scripts which inflict troj etc into victim computers. I know first hand how awful these article scripts are the hard way:( . Anyhow getting back to topic.

I would suggest writing articles at least 3 times per week. Also signing up for a article publishing site that will distribute your articles to many article sites. There are many article publishing sites out there like isnare, articleunited, articlemarketer and of course there are many others but the 3 i mentioned above are the most common.
