Over time if done right you can form a large user base that will build faith in you and your business. This will drastically increase sales and profits for your business. Find a topic that you know very well and write on it. People love tutorials and free information. This is a great way to bait your readers into going to your website with your affiliate links or articles or products/services. This is done through the user bio at the end of the article. Many article directories also provider their authors with a bio page. This usually gives the options to upload a picture, write about your self and your business or businesses, and give your website address.
Benefits: this allows for people to see who wrote the article and help market your self and your business.

Many authors write on many different topics looking to form backlinks to their website(s) or according to there product or service provided. This is a great way to target market your audience.

There are many, many, many, article directories. I'd suggest looking for article directories that target the keywords and keyword phrases that are relevant to your website. I would avoid article sites that use the articlebeach or articledashboard free article script due to how hackable they are and all the mysql exploits that have been done on these scripts which inflict troj etc into victim computers. I know first hand how awful these article scripts are the hard way:( . Anyhow getting back to topic.

I would suggest writing articles at least 3 times per week. Also signing up for a article publishing site that will distribute your articles to many article sites. There are many article publishing sites out there like isnare, articleunited, articlemarketer and of course there are many others but the 3 i mentioned above are the most common.
